Toxic!

Sometimes there's this alluring yet undefinable chemistry between performers onstage: a rich subtle language of not just words, but glances and shifts of the body; a group mind so in sync as to defy understanding. Sometimes, from time to time, you sense that there's a rich subtext between those performers. And sometimes, that subtext is so awkward as to feel like a chubby hand is pushing you in the face. Welcome to Toxic! -- the improv of exes.

Rica Eckersley and Thomas MacKay have improvised together for over five years across many stages and formats. Together they have improvised in Harold Night at the Bad Dog, Hot Doctors In Love, Man Men, Weirdos, Theatresports and the ITC Dual Duel. Rica has performed in the Canadian Comedy award-winning Show Stopping Number and the hit improv show Sass and the City. Thomas MacKay also performed in the Canadian Comedy Award nominated Dreadwood and more recently in the musical improv competition show Troubadour, also CCA-nominated.

Together they bring you an onstage duet of relationship come and relationship go. It's when Harry Met Sally when really that was the last thing either Harry or Sally wanted; it's Gone With The Wind, only with more burning buildings; it's Labyrinth, if the David Bowie character drank more. It's fun, it's honest, it's Toxic!
