Gluttony

Gluttony is six improvisers who do longform, montage-based improv. Trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade, the Peoples Improv Theater, the Magnet, and more, the members came together in July 2006. They have been performing throughout New York and New Jersey ever since, gathering what they like to think of as a cult following. The group is proud of their resident Canadian, Kelly Kreye, who hails from Alberta. They are especially proud of performing at the sixth and seventh annual Toronto International Improv Festivals in 2007 and 2008, as well as being chosen as a featured group in the Upright Citizen Brigade NY's 2009 Del Close Marathon.

The ensemble began under the coaching of celebrated Chicago improviser Jean Villepique of Switchboard. Since then, they have been coached by Eliza Skinner of I Eat Pandas, as well as Sue Galloway, Louis Kornfeld, and Jane Borden. Combining elements of the Harold with techniques from legendary shows like 4 Square and Switchboard, the group creates longform improv with an entirely original format.

Gluttony has brought its show to venues across New York, New Jersey, and Canada, including Upright Citizens Brigade, the Peoples Improv Theater, the Magnet Theater, Gotham City Improv, Red Room, Upstairs at Mo Pitkin’s, the New Jersey ComedyFest, The Peanut Butter Factory, Parkside Lounge, Lucky Chang’s, Perch Café, Under St. Mark’s Theater, The Royal Theatre at the Producers Club, Laila Lounge, Spike Hill, and P.S. 17. They’ve also been seen in films such as Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Okay, that was just one of us, Helen, but she had a pretty big role, which we think is cool.
